About the event

Friday 17 September: "Reaping the Story: Harvest at the Farm."  The busiest time of the farm family's year is upon us with a bounty that needs preserving in both the short-term, looking towards Thanksgiving, and the long-term, looking towards next Spring.  It's also a time of pulling together for the communal good, with neighbours sharing tools, time, and labour and making sure any excess gets to those who need it through church groups, social charities, or just a friendly gesture. This foodways-themed living history event is set in the 1850s/1860s.
