Belonging, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy
Beginning in 2025, through the restructuring of the Friends of Brookside Farm Museum, Brookside Farm Museum and the Friends of Brookside Farm Museum adopted belonging, diversity, and inclusion as essential guiding principles for the site’s future. Together, they affirm that Brookside Farm Museum should be stewarded and developed as an accessible, welcoming, and relevant public space where people of varied backgrounds, identities, ages, incomes, and lived experiences are respected, represented, and encouraged to participate.
In partnership, Brookside Farm Museum and the Friends of Brookside Farm Museum are committed to ensuring that the site’s programming, interpretation, partnerships, volunteer engagement, and stewardship of the land reflect broad public access, multiple perspectives, and a meaningful sense of belonging. This policy guides ongoing efforts to reduce barriers to participation and to shape Brookside as an inclusive cultural and community space that serves the full community with intention, responsibility, and care.
